Case study
A powerful example of the TILLIT approach is the Statia NVT Zomerschool, a summer school in Belgium for Caribbean teachers of Dutch as a Foreign Language. In an annual summer school in the city of Ghent, we empowered educators to improve their teaching through workshops, job-shadowing and international exchange. To ensure lasting impact, the programme included follow-up in the next school year with additional coaching and lesson observations on site in the Caribbean schools. This initiative was made possible with the financial support of Erasmus+ and won a European award for its unique approach, combining professional development in language teaching with intercultural exchange resulting in a true celebration of language learning.
